Hertha Heuwer

Hertha Heuwer has earned her place in our breeding programme through her own performance and a distinguished pedigree. The bay Trakehner mare was born on 25 April 2008. By Gribaldi out of the elite mare Hekate by Exclusiv – Memphis – Athlet, she belongs to the O44A Horsa family. She stands 172 centimetres and has a substantial frame.

A champion mare with her own performance record

In 2011 Hertha Heuwer won the Central Mare Registration in Lower Saxony. This was followed by another highlight on 8 September that year, when she completed her mare performance test at Visselhövede with an overall score of 8.02. She received 9.0 for trot and 8.5 each for canter and rideability. Her state and studbook premiums reflect the quality she showed both at grading and under saddle.

Her sporting career brought wins and placings in young riding horse classes and A- and L-level young dressage horse classes. We find this combination particularly appealing: Hertha Heuwer has completed tests and gained sporting experience of her own, alongside the successful ancestors in her pedigree.

Gribaldi: dressage history in the direct sire line

Hertha's sire Gribaldi competed successfully at international Grand Prix level with Edward Gal. As a sire he became one of the most influential names in dressage breeding. His sons include Painted Black, Easy Game and Totilas. In 2010 Totilas and Edward Gal won three gold medals at the World Equestrian Games in Lexington: team, Grand Prix Special and freestyle.

Hertha Heuwer is thus a direct daughter of a stallion whose influence reaches far beyond Trakehner breeding. This makes her pedigree particularly interesting, while her own story deserves to stand alongside the achievements of her famous relatives.

Hekate and the Horsa family

The dam line also has a distinguished breeding record. In addition to Hertha Heuwer, Hekate produced the licensed stallions Herzog von Heidenrod by Freudenfest and Hellinger by Oliver Twist. Granddam Hera by Memphis also holds elite status. Exclusiv, Memphis and Athlet add further proven Trakehner names to the dam line.

The Horsa family has produced horses for different sporting disciplines. Well-known representatives include the eventing stallion Hannibal and the S-level dressage horse Halifax. This versatility provides an appealing background to Hertha's own clearly dressage-oriented career.

The next generation at Sieberthof

Hertha Heuwer continues her family in our breeding programme. Recorded offspring include a daughter by Münchhausen in 2017, a daughter by Shavalou in 2019, and colts by Imperio in 2021 and Ivanhoe in 2023. A colt by Proud James followed in 2026. Each mating complements her ancestry in its own way, allowing us to follow Hertha's influence over several foal crops.
