Seaflower / Seerösschen

Seaflower: a special branch of the Seeconda family

Seaflower, also known to us as Seerösschen, represents a rare and particularly interesting branch of our Trakehner breeding programme. Born on 5 June 2016, the bay mare is by Empire State out of elite mare Seeconda by Consul. She stands 165 cm, with a medium-sized frame. Her special significance lies in combining two mare families that have made their mark far beyond Trakehner breeding.

Together with her maternal half-sisters Seeperle and Special Emotion, Seaflower keeps alive the memory of Sabine Oberdieck and her passion for Trakehner horses. Three daughters of the same exceptional dam, three different sires and three individual paths: this family history is part of what makes our breeding so special to us.

Empire State: a rare bloodline

Her sire Empire State was named a premium stallion in Neumünster in 2013. He combines internationally successful Grand Prix stallion Imperio with Evviva by Kaiser Wilhelm TSF. The dam side deserves a closer look: Evviva was Trakehner Riding Horse Champion, a Bundeschampionat competitor and dam of the licensed stallions Easton and Empire State.

Evviva's dam Evita XII by Schwadroneur won her mare performance test in Denmark and was the top-priced auction horse in Neumünster in 2001. She also produced Easy Game. Empire State is therefore a close maternal relative of Easy Game, who made international dressage history as the sire of TSF Dalera BB. For Seaflower this creates a remarkable connection between the Imperio line and the Eichel family continued through Evita XII.

Seeconda: a family proven in sport

On the dam side the story begins with Seeconda herself. Seaflower's maternal half-siblings include Schwarzgold, a 2011 premium stallion who qualified for four consecutive Bundeschampionate and later won several S-level dressage classes. Her half-sister Standing Ovation TSF was champion mare in Lower Saxony in 2013, reached the World Young Dressage Horse Championship final twice and subsequently competed successfully up to Grand Prix.

Sir Arthur TSF is another of these siblings: the Buddenbrock son was already successful in advanced dressage at seven and won the Hesse Professional Riders' Championship in 2011. These close relatives give the dam line particular weight. Through Consul, Seeadler and Thoroughbred mare Cresta Star xx by Andalusier xx, it traces back to family EA13A.

The next generation at Sieberthof

In 2022 Seaflower produced the colt Seefalke by Ivanhoe. He carries her family forward among our young horses. Seaflower combines a rare sire line with a dam family that has repeatedly proved itself in both sport and breeding.
