Weihnira

A proven mare from an exceptional family

Weihnira has proved her worth both in the dressage arena and as a broodmare, backed by a dam line of international standing. Born in 2014, the black Oldenburg mare is by De Niro out of Weihcine by Fürst Heinrich. Her granddam is Weihegold OLD. With the Olympic champion as her granddam, our elite mare is closely connected to one of the most successful dressage families of recent times.

Weihnira has also proved her own ability in the arena. She has won several German M** dressage classes with scores above 70 per cent. Her competition record demonstrates her own ability alongside the achievements of her ancestors.

De Niro and Fürst Heinrich

Her sire De Niro, by Donnerhall, made history as both a sport horse and a breeding stallion. With Dolf-Dietram Keller he won international Grands Prix and the German Dressage Derby in Hamburg in 2003. His offspring took him to the top of the WBFSH world dressage sire rankings on several occasions. Horses such as Desperados FRH and Dablino demonstrate his far-reaching influence on international top-level sport.

Damsire Fürst Heinrich left a lasting mark during his short lifetime. He won his 30-day test in 2001, received the Oldenburg main premium in 2002 and became World Champion of five-year-old dressage horses in 2003. In Weihnira's pedigree his line meets De Niro's established Grand Prix family.

From Weihcine to Weihegold OLD

Weihnira's dam Weihcine is a state premium and elite mare. She was selected for the Oldenburg Brillantring in 2013 and also earned placings in young horse classes. Her offspring include Weihnira and the Diamond Hit stallion Dodo Weihgand, reserve champion of the 2018 Oldenburg licensing. Several branches of this close family have therefore proved themselves in both sport and breeding.

With Isabell Werth, Weihegold OLD won team gold and individual silver at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. Three consecutive World Cup Final victories followed: Omaha in 2017, Paris in 2018 and Gothenburg in 2019. These outstanding achievements by Weihnira's granddam illustrate the international standing of her mare family.

Weihnira's own offspring

Her son Iowa Gold by Asgard’s Ibiza is a licensed stallion on the Celle State Stud roster. He completed his 14-day test with a dressage final score of 8.79 and has also won several German L-level young dressage horse classes.

Her daughter Weihtastic OLD by Totilas is a state premium and elite mare. In 2023 she won bronze in the six-year-old dressage horse division of the Oldenburg Regional Championships. She was already winning German S-level dressage at seven and competed at the Bundeschampionat in 2024. At Sieberthof, Vitus Niro SH by Vjento, born in 2026, continues Weihnira's story.
