Inscription

A champion mare from the Italia family

Inscription brings a special combination to Sieberthof: her own champion mare title, a strong performance test result and close relatives successful in sport and breeding. The dark bay daughter of Ovaro is out of elite mare Inschrift by Glanzlicht.

At the mare auction during the 2018 Trakehner Stallion Market, the state and studbook premium mare stood out for her type and canter. She had already won the champion mare title at Schleswig-Holstein's Central Mare Registration. She also demonstrated her quality under saddle in her performance test.

Versatility in her performance test

Inscription completed her mare performance test in Elmshorn in 2018 with an overall score of 7.94. The individual marks are particularly informative: 8.25 for rideability, 8.0 for jumping and 8.0 for walk. These results cover several important qualities of a riding horse.

Her rideability score provides clear evidence of her own ability. As a broodmare, she combines those tested qualities with a successful immediate family.

Ovaro: sport and breeding

Her sire Ovaro, by Hohenstein out of a Kostolany mare, was an elite stallion and successful up to Prix St Georges. He qualified for the Bundeschampionat in 2005. In December 2023 the Trakehner Verband recorded more than 120 registered offspring and four licensed sons: Iceman, Intarsio, Ironic and Windsor.

His advanced dressage offspring include Windsor and Indian Queen. Indian Queen is particularly noteworthy here: she is Inscription's full sister and has wins and high placings in S-level dressage with Ragna Mann. Licensed stallion Intarsio is also a full brother. The same mating has therefore produced success in both sport and breeding.

Inschrift and a traditional dam line

Dam Inschrift was discovered for Hof Heitholm at the 1998 Trakehner mare auction and received elite status for her breeding achievements. Her sire Glanzlicht was the 1994 Trakehner licensing champion and later successful up to Grand Prix. Through Inschrift's dam Imposante by Ravel, the line continues into family O15A Italia from the Scharffetter-Hengstenberg/Kallwischken breeding programme.

This Trakehner family has been carefully bred over many generations. Licensed stallions associated with it include Inkognito, In Petto and In Flagranti. Inscription's closest relatives remain particularly informative: an elite dam, a full sister successful in S-level dressage and a licensed full brother.

Offspring at Sieberthof

Inscription is the dam of Invictus, born in 2019, and Invicto, born in 2020, both by Undercover. They were followed by Inspektor by Dezember in 2021 and the filly Invicta by Eichengold in 2023. Incredible Dream by GLOCK’s Dream Boy was born in 2025. These offspring continue her dam line at Sieberthof through different sire lines.
